Welcome!

About me

My name is Julia Spielmann (she/her) and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Social Roles and Beliefs Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi. My research uses psychological science to investigate social and political issues that frequently seem intractable (e.g., gender inequality). I examine how psychological processes shape the way people engage in discrimination against members of marginalized groups (e.g., gender minorities). My work provides novel insight into how belief systems relate to ways in which people perceive both their own lives and society as a whole.
